YTSARA LAUNCHES AT K WEST |  |

Apr 2007 London’s hip design hotel, K West, has recently introduced the luxury Thai spa brand, Ytsara, in its cool K Spa. K Spa is the only spa in the Capital to offer ytsara, which is a totally organic skin care line with treatments based on traditional Thai principles. The 14 new treatments launched at K Spa, which include five facials and five massages, combine Thai Acupressure, Royal Thai Massage and Asian Aromatherapy. Each treatment begins with a cleansing of the feet, which is traditionally thought to ward off negativity. The therapist will bathe guests’ feet in warm water while massaging each foot with fragrant lemongrass oil. A refreshing hot towel will also be offered to guests to cleanse their hands. A unique element of Ytsara treatments is the use of a heated poultice filled with herbs, which is used to massage the body and face. In addition to allowing the oils to be more easily absorbed into the skin, a major benefit of using the hot poultice is that by combining the herbs with the heat, the muscles become deeply relaxed. Depending on whether the area being massaged is on the body or face, either a small or large poultice will be chosen for the treatment. In order to harmonise and balance the body, soul and mind, all treatments will finish with the traditional Thai breathing technique, Pranyama Yoga Breathing. Guests will also enjoy a cup of Angelgrass Tea, which is renowned for its healing and revitalising properties. Furthermore, guests will be given the poultice used in their treatment as a present so they can reinact the treatment at home. The poultice retains its fragrance due to the herbs being tightly packed inside the muslin and it can simply be reheated in a microwave.
